ATLAS OF ENDANGERED ANIMALS by Stephen Pollock
One of a series intended to inform children about the environment and its problems in a worldwide context, this book concerns endangered animals. It presents the subject in terms of regional differences and similarities, giving an understanding of why things are worse in some parts of the world. Each map has a full set of symbols, based on those devised by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, highlighting especially endangered species. These are related to the photographs and text which expand on why they are in danger and what, if anything, can be done to remedy the situation.
