This book uses a range of newspaper articles written during the Second World War to look at events on the home front in Britain. Topics include women's work, the Blitz, rationing, the home guard and propaganda. Each newspaper article is accompanied by text which sets it in historical context, as well as an evaluation box which will discuss the article in terms of its usefulness as a piece of historical evidence.
