Robert Swindells was a primary school teacher, served in the RAF and involved in the peace movement before becoming a full time author. He is the winner of numerous awards including the prestigious Carnegie Medal. He has also written Snapshot for Barrington Stoke. He lives in Haworth, Yorkshire.
