Step-by-step photographs and easy to follow instructions combined with simple techniques mean that you can get really creative with some funky fabrics and embellish with buttons, beads and sequins. Projects include brooches, cushions, mobile phone pouch, bags and lots more. This is a great way to get started with applique and learn a new skill.

This is a great book on beginning Applique for kids. The photographs were very colorful and showed the projects nicely. The instructions are easy to follow and each project is age appropriate and simple enough for the girl to complete on her own. This book can be used individually or to do group projects.

About Nancy Nicholson

Nancy Nicholson grew up in a creative environment as her parents were both textile designers. She attended Maidstone College of Art where she did a BA in Graphic Design, and then went on to The Royal College of Art where she did an MA in Fine Art Textiles. Since leaving college Nancy has been working to exhibition with works in paper, print and embroidery, and experimenting widely in many aspects of textiles and design, both commercial and fine art based, including contributing to craft books and magazine articles. For the past ten years she has taught art and craft to children and adults. Nancy lives in Kent.
