About Miss Read

Miss Read's first book, VILLAGE SCHOOL, was published in 1955 and began a forty-year career in which some forty books were published. These were primarily in the Fairacre and Thrush Green series but also included a cookery book and two volumes of autiobiography. She and her husband live near Hungerford in Berkshire.
