Here Comes The Sun Summary

Here Comes The Sun by Karl Newson

Snuggle down with this beautiful picture book and join Little Owl as she flies off on a magical, star-filled night.

With beautiful illustrations throughout from the hugely talented Migy Blanco and rhyming verse by Karl Newson that rolls off the tongue, this is a special, calming book for bedtime.

While all the other animals sleep through the night, Little Owl has work to do - she needs to blow out the stars, one by one, to make way for morning. When her work is done, the sun finally rises to wake the animals from their slumbers . . . but for Little Owl, it's time for bed.

Lilting rhyme and rhythm make this book perfect for settling children for a peaceful night's sleep, and stunning scenes show Little Owl flying all over the world. Little ones will love pointing out all the different animals!

Sumptuously illustrated by Migy Blanco, who has been shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, with beautiful verse by Karl Newson, who has been shortlisted for the Sainsbury's Children's Book Award, and whose stories are published in over 20 languages around the world.

About Karl Newson

Karl Newson (Author)
Karl Newson is a children's book author and illustrator from London. He takes inspiration from songs and books and people and everything! His favourite things are elephants, stars and his two mini Mudwafflers. His least favourite thing is mashed potato - bleurgh! In his spare time he enjoys walking and listening to music from the 1960s (and singing along - badly - to them), and biscuits.

Migy Blanco (Illustrator)
Migy (pronounced 'Miggy') was born in Salford, England, Migy went to university in London, and then spent 10 years working in advertising and editorial illustration. After marrying, he moved to Buenos Aires. There, surrounded by the vibrancy and colour of South America, he developed a children's book style that is bold, magical and eye-catching. Migy recently moved back to the UK and, for the first time in his life, he is living outside of a mega-city, enjoying nature and exploring new inspiration.
