Knickerless Nicola is a humorous and charming children’s story, first published in 1991. It tells the story of a young child named Nicola who just doesn’t like to keep her knickers on. She takes them off in the oddest of places and pretends they are all sorts of funny things such as a flag or a windmill!
Unsurprisingly, her mother starts to feel rather embarrassed and more than a little exasperated as she tries to encourage Nicola to keep her knickers on.

Knickerless Nicola Summary

Knickerless Nicola by Kara May

However, as the story progresses, Nicola starts to realise that life without knickers isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. When she wants to go on the swings she isn’t very comfy, when she sits on the sofa it prickles and when she heads outside to play it gets a bit too chilly! So in the end Nicola decides that perhaps her mum is right and that it might be a good idea to wear knickers after all!

  • You are looking for more classic children’s stories with morals embedded in the narrative

  • You remember this story from your own childhood and want to reminisce
