Mother May I Reviews

Jackson follows her brilliantly unnerving Never Have I Ever with another battle of wits between a manipulative criminal and her victim ... Bree and Marshall's twin narratives sustain the unrelenting tension all the way to a double denouement; yet this is much more than an expertly crafted entertainment, as its themes include class, sexual consent and misogyny -- Thriller of the Month * Sunday Times *
Jackson crafts a finely paced, shrewdly observed, multi-tiered story which moves with ease between past and present. Older events that prompt current actions are uncovered; pressing issues of class, race and sexual abuse are viscerally dramatized. Mother May I is a thinking (and feeling) reader's thriller, a literary beach read * Wall Street Journal *
Joshilyn Jackson does it again with this explosive, white-knuckle read about a mother who will stop at nothing to protect her family. Terrifying, timely and thought-provoking, I couldn't tear my eyes away from Mother May I -- Mary Kubica, New York Times bestselling author of 'The Other Mrs'
Mother May I sets a new standard for the genre: it's razor-sharp, merciless and masterful -- Rose Carlyle, author of 'The Girl in the Mirror'
Starts with a bang and doesn't let up, asking how well you truly know the people around you - and how far you're willing to go for the ones you love -- Megan Miranda, author of 'All the Missing Girls'
Addictive domestic suspense * Parade *
A smart, original thriller with a chilling reveal -- Praise for 'Never Have I Ever', Clare Mackintosh
Jackson raises the stakes again and again -- Praise for 'Never Have I Ever' * Guardian *
Absolutely immaculately done, to be read in one breathless sitting -- Praise for 'Never Have I Ever', India Knight
One hell of a thriller -- Praise for 'Never Have I Ever' * Heat *
