In March 1944 the USAAF set out for Berlin to begin a daylight bombing campaign. The waiting Luftwaffe inflicted the heaviest losses the 8th Air Force was to suffer throughout the air war. Drawing on first-hand accounts by Allied and German personnel, the authors provide an account of this raid.
