Darren Pietersen is a herpetologist specialising in African reptiles and amphibians. He is a freelance consultant, and a research associate in the Department of Zoology and Entomology at the University of Pretoria. Luke Verburgt is a consulting herpetologist with over 19 years of professional herpetofauna survey experience across 23 African countries. He is a director of the Enviro-Insight consultancy and an extraordinary lecturer at the University of Pretoria.
