About Daniel Austin

Daniel Austin's obsession with puzzles and trivia stretches back to his early childhood, when he would draw endless mazes and invent cunning codes. Entirely for his own amusement, when the internet was still in its infancy back in the nineties, he created a website about wordplay and word games - and was flabbergasted when it unexpectedly became so popular that it generated enough advertising revenue to fund him through his university years. Nowadays Daniel continues to enjoy solving and setting puzzles, largely for recreation. His day job is as a travel writer and tour leader specialised in Madagascar, a country about which he has written multiple guidebooks and a wildlife guide for Bradt.
