Pioneers of Social Passion: From London Methodisim to the World by Brian Frost
This publication looks at twelve pioneers of social justice and action in London. The movements they started arising from their Methodist roots have since developed and grown way beyond London and way beyond Methodism. The book offers a unique balance between the stories of individuals and their links with issues of general concern ranging from young people to racism, education, politics and international issues. The book is based on a wide range of original research both into hitherto inaccessible archive material and first-hand interviews. The book includes studies of well-known figures such as Donald Soper, Hugh and Katherine Price Hughes, Sybil Phoenix and Joseph Rank.
