Vanessa Barrington is an Oakland, California, based writer, chef, and cooking teacher. She's the co-author with Steve Sando of Heirloom Beans. Publications include: Curve Magazine, The Oakland Tribune and The Contra Costa Times, EcoSalon. She was San Francisco Food Editor for Apartment Therapy's The Kitchen. Vanessa worked with a group of neighbors to found The Noe Valley Farmers Market, one of the few all-volunteer, unaffiliated Farmers Markets in the Bay Area. She is a member of IACP, ASJA, Slow Food, and The San Francisco Professional Food Society.
