Katherine Ayres has written picture books, novels, short stories and plays. When not writing, she skis, golfs, gardens and makes quilts. Katherine has three adult children and lives with her husband in Ohio, USA. Hideko Takahashi has illustrated numerous children's picture books, but this is her first for Walker. She lives in Seattle, USA.
