Bullseye burst on to our TV screens a generation ago, complete with a dart-throwing cartoon bull, budget sets, dodgy prizes and a Northern comedian called Jim Bowen. Now, 25 years later, both game show and host have - much to Jim's bemusement - achieved cult status. Repeats of Bullseye can be seen on Challenge TV; a Channel 4 programme voted it 'The Ultimate Game Show of all Time'; and Jim Bowen is regularly beamed into our living rooms via such programmes as Richard and Judy, Phoenix Nights, Bo Selecta, and The Paul O'Grady Show, as well as appearing live at the Edinburgh Fringe and elsewhere. All in all, something of a renaissance for the boy from a Liverpool children's home. Or perhaps old comedians never die, they just go digital! Now includes celebrity 'tales out of school'.
