Carolyn Mackler left her homeland of western New York at the age of seventeen to attend Vassar College, study in Paris, drive across the United States in a car named Egg and live in eleven different apartments, two half-of-houses and one tent. She eventually made her way to New York City and became a writer. Carolyn has written short stories, feature articles and personal essays for numerous publications and has appeared on television, on radio programs and in schools, where her favourite question so far has been, "Do any of your main characters have freckles?" Carolyn lives in New York City and is currently writing her next young adult novel.
