The Moomins are the central characters in a series of books and a comic strip by Finnish illustrator and writer Tove Jansson. They are a family of white, roundish fairy tale characters with large snouts that make them resemble hippopotamuses, but they are actually trolls. The Moomin family and their friends live an adventurous life in the idyllic and peaceful Moominvalley in harmony with nature.
