Bücher von Laurel Dee Gugler

Bernice Gold grew up in Montreal near the Museum of Fine Art. Her father had a great passion for books and the family had a large collection--about 15,000--that lined the house. Early on, Bernice was drawn to anthropology and sociology, and she went on to study them at McGill University. In later years she began to play music in amateur groups. This passion led to a recent degree in music from Concordia University.

Bernice did not begin writing until she was married and had had five children. At this time she also began a part-time job as a freelance broadcaster for the CBC. Bernice still lives in Montreal, with her husband.

Joanne Stanbridge was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan. She has been writing stories as long as she can remember and always liked to draw, but it was not until she was in her thirties that she began to paint. Working as a children's librarian and loving children's literature, it was not long before she was painting pictures to go with her favorite stories.

Joanne has recently moved to Kingston, 0ntario, after working for more than ten years at the Westmount Public Library in Montreal. She is now the urban branch liaison librarian at the Kingston-Frontenac Public Library.
