Javier Gomez, better known in wargaming circles as El Mercenario, is an award-winning figure painter with a very good reputation, to the extent that his painting services are used by the legendary figure sculptures the Perry twins. He is also editor of the Spanish-language military history magazine Desperto Ferro.
